What are the symbols in the upper right corner of web pages (A and [])?

A click on one of the (A) symbols will increase, decrease or display the default text size. The ([]) symbols allow visitors to instantly change the website format to support different screen resolutions. The choices are narrow, wide and fluid. Instead of changing your screen resolution to be compatible with the website, you simply change the website style.
